Description of project and role undertaken by Recom Solutions
Recom Solutions took on the role of Construction Manager for this project, managing teams of subcontractors and designers to restore and refurbish the town house, annex and grade 2 listed Brownfields Mill to become 31 loft apartments. This included detailed architectural and structural condition surveys of the building,managing works to the roof, masonry and the installation of all services.
What we did differently
Working Under Urban Splash Recom developed SOP’s to ensure that project programme was developed and
delivered in accordance with a 3 Week Lookahead Strategy. Interviewing each supplier, Recom developed a master
programme for project support and introduced a buildability session each week to monitor and track progress.
Key Features of the project
- Full internal refurbishment of each apartment, providing one, two and three bedroom apartments with
original features such as exposed brickwork and cast-iron columns.
- Preparation of strategic masterplan for the site to develop the Brownfields Mill, Townhouse and annex in
co-ordination with each other reducing the length of the project.
- Full repairs to the grade 2 listed structure
- Installation of the lift
