April 14, 2026 RECOM Consultancy Team Visits Zochonis Project at The University of Manchester

Members of our Consultancy team recently visited our Zochonis project at The University of Manchester to see progress on site firsthand.

The visit provided a valuable opportunity for colleagues from across the business to experience the scheme in person, gaining a deeper understanding of the work delivered to date and the key milestones ahead.

Bringing together colleagues from different areas of the business, the site visit helped strengthen internal collaboration and knowledge sharing. By seeing the project up close, the team was able to better appreciate the complexities involved and align on the next stages of delivery.

These visits play an important role in ensuring that expertise is shared across teams, supporting a more joined-up and informed approach to project delivery.

The Zochonis project involves a comprehensive refurbishment of an existing university building, including a full mechanical and electrical (M&E) replacement.

As the scheme progresses, the scope continues to evolve in line with wider decarbonisation objectives and the long-term performance goals of the estate. This ensures the building is not only upgraded to modern standards but also contributes to a more sustainable future for the university.

By aligning refurbishment works with sustainability and efficiency targets, the project demonstrates a forward-thinking approach to estate management within the education sector.

We look forward to continuing progress on site and supporting The University of Manchester in delivering high-performing, future-ready facilities.
