Recognition at The University of Manchester’s 2026 Estates & Facilities Awards

We’re proud to share that the Essentials project has been recognised with the Outstanding Impact on Student Experience award at the 2026 Estates & Facilities Outstanding Contribution Awards at The University of Manchester.

This achievement highlights the positive difference the project is already making within the student community, as well as the strength of collaboration behind its delivery.

As Project Manager on the scheme, it was a privilege for our team to support the delivery of a project with such a clear and immediate impact.

The Essentials initiative transformed a previously vacant campus unit into a welcoming, accessible space where students can access affordable food and everyday essentials. Designed with student wellbeing in mind, the project provides practical support at a time when many are facing ongoing cost-of-living challenges.

This award is a testament to the collective effort of all those involved in bringing the project to life. By working closely with stakeholders, the team ensured that the space was not only functional, but also inclusive and supportive of the wider student community.

Projects like Essentials demonstrate how thoughtful design and delivery can go beyond the built environment, creating spaces that genuinely improve people’s day-to-day lives.
